Online Education System Implementation

Online Education System Implementation

Online education is becoming a fast-moving trend nowadays. Almost all educational systems have integrated themselves with the online system. The question here arises do all the educational institutes implementing the online system at its best? Of course, the answer is no, and not all educational institutions are so much capable of implementing online systems effectively. Some rules and procedures are involved in implementing online systems in educational institutes.

After the emergence of coronavirus, when all the educational institutes were also asked for a complete shutdown, they moved towards online systems. Most schools, colleges, and universities failed to implement the online system because of its complexities. Online education is not just about taking classes through zoom or Google classroom; it is much more than that. The online educational system involves all the technical complexities, operations of different apps simultaneously, maintaining decorum of the class, supervising the class like a physical class, and much more ethical and educational background is involved for the building of an effective online education system.

On the one hand, the online education system also gives flexible time to students in classes and even during exams. When students are found too busy with their home tasks or other responsibilities, they are allowed to avail themselves of the services of online class help and online exam help. If a student is not so good at scoring well in the class, he might ask for help to take my online class for me. In this way, it is profound to find a good teacher who will convey the message of the ultimate teacher to him in the most effective way.

When there was a sudden closure of educational institutes in corona, educational systems shifted to e-learning without considering the factors that might affect it adversely. It seems so easy to implement the online system in educational institutes, but shifting towards it is a great paradigm shift which is not an easy feat. It is a hell of difficult, from poor infrastructure to the teacher’s training. Even not after three years of online education, there are a lot of districts that are still not capable of implementing online educational systems.

Although it is known that many schools and colleges have been used to e-learning for so long, what about those localized educational institutes that all include the typical old teachers and traditional students? They are reluctant to adopt online education. This is the other major problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. These traditional teachers and students are not ready to accept this change, which also acts as a hurdle in implementing an online education system.

Factors affecting the implementation of online education

Some factors affect the implementation of online education.

  1. Students’ access to the internet and personal gadgets

Some of the students do not have internet in their homes. They face many problems when they are asked to take an online class. Sometimes the internet connection is poor in their areas, and they can hardly connect for the classes covering the lecture of 6-8 hours a day. Their connectivity issues remain the same throughout the class session. Furthermore, most of the students do not have their phones. They use their parent’s phones which causes distraction in between the ongoing sessions. In the US, public places are given access to broadband and hotspot, but not at homes.

  • Online instructions according to student needs and abilities

All students are not the same. They include different abilities and strive for different needs. Regarding online education, some students are used to technology, while some avoid it. Some students know how to cope immediately with technical issues, while some do not. Moreover, primary school students do not know how to blend effectively with technology. So the needs of students according to their educational level are also different that must be recognized and resolved differently. All students are not on the same page.

  • Lack of professional development

Educational systems have restricted their students to their studies only. They are not letting their students engage in professional development. They must allow their students to apply for part-time jobs or internships to enhance their career ladder. Educational systems are restricting their students from professional development by giving them crash courses so that their students will 24 hours engage in the completion of courses but will not have exposure to professional development.

  • Confidentiality of data

Some schools and colleges have not maintained decorum, because of which students leak the data of other students. When emails and phone numbers are distributed among irrelevant people, the concept of online education becomes unleashed. Teachers must ensure the confidentiality of data of each student by any means. In the online educational system, it is the educational system’s responsibility to make e-learning secure and protective.

Tips for implementing an effective online educational system

To overcome the factors mentioned above, the following are some tips to implement an effective online educational system;

  • Set clear goals for online programs

Set a clear goal so that the students might know in which direction they have to move and within what time. The set goals will let students work elsewhere despite being only stuck to education.

  • Clear goals for each student

Online education requires complete feasibility and flexibility, so the teacher must allow students to set individual goals. This will help students self-explore themselves while building trust in the educational system.

  • Monitoring of progress

Monitor each student’s progress regularly so that there will be no student left behind. Furthermore, monitoring also makes the student feel that teacher has an eye on them, so they have to maintain consistent decorum in the class.

  • Make it engaging

In traditional classes, boring lectures could be bared because students know that teacher is watching them. In online education, the session must be social and engaging so that students will find it interactive, and their minds will not go beyond the education.

BOTTOM LINE:
Online education implementation is not easy, and many factors must be considered; otherwise, it may cause a lack of peace in the educational system.
